Import Duties and Taxes

Many people are uncertain about why import duties are levied on products that they buy online. Customs duties are totally beyond our control and it depends on each country’s import regulations.

Depending on the country, there could be waivers for mail orders or internet purchases but there is usually a limit in its value.

NZ E-commerce and Tax Info

Normally when we ship out the package, we will try our best to mark as a “Gift” and the sender is normally a person rather than a company name.

If your customers do not want to be hassled by any duty/taxes issue, we have an Express Tax Clearance service that a small amount can be paid to us and we will absorb the cost of the duty taxes. Normally we will charge an amount that is approximately 50% of the normal import tax rates. Kindly refer to our optional for Express Tax Clearance service.

Taxes & Import Duties

We do not charge taxes on shipments to any state or country.
However, YOUR COUNTRY MAY CHARGE YOU TAXES, Duties and fees over which we have no control. If you decide not to pay these taxes, Duties and fees when your parcel arrives, then you still remain responsible to us for the cost of the goods and outward shipping. If the goods are returned to us, then you will owe us additionally for the return shipping cost and a re-stocking fee of 15% of the total product purchase price. The remaining balance will then be refunded back to your credit card . In some Countries, if you refuse your shipment, your Customs charge us for the duty you refused to pay! In that case you are then liable to us for that duty. Goods will be taxed according to local taxes. For more details, please contact the customs department of your province/state/country.

Tax Insurance

As part of our service to our resellers, we offer Tax Insurance to the following countries/Region based on the following additional surcharges on the value of the item you order:

AU (Australia) Tax Insurance : 1%
NZ (New Zealand) Tax Insurance : 1%
CA (Canada) Tax Insurance : 2%
EU/UK (Europe and United Kingdom) Tax Insurance :  10%

NOTE: Please be advised that when you add this option of Tax Insurance in  your orders, we reserve the right to declare your shipment to be lower than US$50. All products shipped are brand new items but if Tax Insurance is required in your orders, we may also declare your item as a refurbished product in order to correspond with the lower value declared. Please ensure > that your customers are made aware of this accordingly as we will not be responsible for any misunderstanding between your customers and you, if any, with regard to this format of declaring our shipments.

How the Tax Insurance works:

We charge an additional percentage of surcharge on top of the value of your orders on the basis that we collect a pool of funds to be used to pay Tax claims in the event certain orders are taxed with VAT/GST. Kindly be advised that we only pay the VAT/Tax portion and not the administrative fees incurred, if any. In the event your orders have been taxed, kindly settle the taxes first on your end and forward your Tax claim to us by providing us a copy of the Tax Invoice provided by either the Shipping Company/Tax Authorities. We will then process your Tax claim and refund you the Tax portion accordingly. Please allow 3-5 working days for the refund of the Tax claim.

If you have any questions about the warranty, please refer to our Import Tax FAQ for more info.
