How much are you paying Ebay + Paypal Fee?
I personlly was a full timer in Ebay selling a lot of products. Now our company is a dropshipper for mobile phones and other items.
Generally it is great to sell in ebay where you see all the bidding coming in. When the auction closed, there was a buyer for your item. The buyer with zero rating and new to ebay.
So you waited for the payment and finally arrived in your bank account. Instructed us to ship the item to him. After he received the item, the next thing you know is your rating when down a point. Then you came to know that this idiot buyer give you a bad rating. Claiming that the shipping was 2 days slower then expected. SHIT! I got the payment on 1st June and he got the item on the 5th of June.
I got it all the time.....
This is why I quit Ebay long ago as the stress that I am getting is too much.... more then the financial gain I am getting. Worst of all, you lost sales because of this idiot remark.
I did a calculation the other day on the listing fee in ebay and till I get paid for the item. Just lisitng in Ebay Australia, it cost me an average of AU$20.00 to sell a phone.
I don’t earn that much selling mobile phones to resellers as the average we are making is about US$10.00
The best thing about Australia’s Ebay is that you get to collect your money via Bank to Bank Transfer which is free in Australia. Not in other countries, I think.
If you are using Paypal, it will cost you an extra 2.5%-4% for a transaction. This will be another 4% generally. If there is a currency conversion, there will be another 1% off. Last of all, when you withdraw into your local bank. There is another %%%%% fee.
So what is the cost of selling phones since Paypal and Ebay make so much?
Finally, the total cost of selling a mobile phone in ebay adds up to 10-12%.
A $500 mobile phone will cost $50.00 on fee to sell. For Australian, it is about 5%. Lucky you.
In the long run, I would definitely get myself a web store to sell in Australia market via advertising on online forum, newspaper, magazines, flyers and anything I can think off.
Imagine, each mobile phones you sell will give you at extra $25-50 extra income. Why Ebay and Why Paypal?
